Mash Up

Our mash ups are finished. The one that I liked the most was Karins. It had very good songs in it and had good transitions. The songs he picked were awesome, he really did a great job. Also, my song was also pretty good. I worked on it the whole weekend, and it was worth it.

DJ Danger Mouse

Brian Joseph Burton aka DJ Danger Mouse was born July 28, 1977 in White Plains, New York. Is a musician, producer, songwriter and a Grammy Award winner. He is a well know mash up artist that has created a lot of music throughout the years. A mash up is a combination of two or more songs or artists to form a new original song. Danger Mouse created a album called The Grey Album, which was a combination of The Beatle´s White Album and Jay-Z´s Black Album. There were some problems fro this album because it broke copyright laws, but I think this should not have happened. This is because he made his own original music with the songs. In the end, everything was all right.

In the world there are many other mash up artists. Such as DJ Earworm, The hood Internet, Girl Talk and many others.Im not really into mash-up music. So i dont know much about other artists. This is all I got.

Environmental Problems

In this world we face many problems, some may be big others are much smaller. But in my opinion one of the biggest ones is rainforest destruction. Yes I know that we get many of our things from the rainforest, but they are a big part of this world. The trees provide living things the oxygen they need. We need oxygen in order to live, animals and plants also need this oxygen. We are depleting these forests and also depleting the oxygen we breathe.

Rainforest´s are also home to many species of animals and plants. We are destroying their home and they are dying because of it. This is bad because in most rainforest´s we have only discovered 10% of the animal and plant species. This is a shame because these species are dying without us even knowing. We are killing living things and we don´t even know it.

This also leads to another problem in this world. Vanishing species is also a very big problem in the world. Its both animal and plant species, but mostly animals. Hunting is one of the big reasons why this is happening. People hunt down animals to their limit. Even if they are protected species, hunters do it for the thrill and joy of it. It is horrible, nobody else but certain organizations care about these things. They should enforce laws because these animals are part of daily life even if you cant notice it.

In some cases the animals being depleted are ones we eat or need for daily life. Plants too are depleting and we need them to provide oxygen. These are just some reasons why it is such a big thing. All living things in this planet do not stand a chance without each other. Its one big circle and we need to take care of it.

Roto Ball

For my Roto Ball video I need to have ides. I dont have very many because my brain is working today.( Its friday!) But some of the ideas I have are: Making a skateboarding trick(s) while recording. Dunking or shooting basketball and making it. Or maybe even me fighting with another friend or something... I still have a lot of time to think of more ideas.

Vacations!

Every since our school closed for vacations ive been at the beach. At first it was pretty fun, I got to spend a lot of time with my family. Also, it made going back home more exciting. But after a couple of days staying at the beach was beginning to be a bit boring. I was getting homesick and I sort of wanted to go home. Then Christmas day came and everyone was super happy. I got a couple of really nice T-shirts, some new cymbals for my drum-set, some accesories for my x-box and a 3-month membership to a nearby-by gym. I was very pleased with my gifts, even though I never asked anything for christmas this year. Anyhow, in the afternoon my family prepared a delicious meal that consited of turkey, yams, stuffing, bread and vegetables. After all of this it became boring again until New Years. My uncle, aunt, mom and me went to buy the New Years fireworks. We bought a lot this year so it would last a very long time. At 1 a.m. my family and I went over a friends party were we sat and talked all night. Then just before school I had a surgery. Im writting this at home, so I haven´t gone to school yet. :) This is what I did on vacations!

Stop-Motion Reflection

Finally! Im almost done with my stop-motion project. Many people ask me how I came up with my idea (Shampoo Dragon) Well it wasn't easy, it took me a couple of hours to decide if to do it or not. I choose this becuase the shampoo bottle looked like a dragon, so it was easy to figure it out. The first skecth I drew was very simple, but as the project went by I made it more elaborate. It madde the video much more interesting, so it all turned out to be perfect. There were many challenges making the video. Fiesrt of all was making the dragon, that took a lot of time. The making the fire stick forward, in some parts of the video you can se a bit of my hand, but barely. But all in all, it was fun making the video, especially seeing as it turned out. The transformation was great! If I had to change anything I would change how the camera moves. During the video it shakes a lot, so thats what I would change. I would definetely choose animation as a carrer, its awesome!

My Medium

To begin my stop motion project I will buy tons of plasticine. Since Im going to be making a shamppo bottle into a dragon, it will require a lot of time and patience. The reason im doing it in plasticine is becuase I think its easier than drawing it. I considered charchaol drwing before plasticine, I hope my choice is the best. The most challenging will be molding the playdoo into a dragon. It has to be near perfection in order to look good.

Stop Motion

Stop Motion is when you take a series of photos and put all together in a sequence. It gives a viewer perspetive of something new and creative. I dont know how else to explain it. This type of art making is incredible, I really like it. I think people like to make these animations because they are fun and great to make. And if you make it right, you get a really awsome. Especially if you dont put the citures in order, you will really mess up. You have to follow the right steps in order to have a great video. Im beginning to make one myself. Included in this blog, I will include two of my favorite stop motion videos.

William Kentridge

Kentridge's work makes me feel light headed. He will draw and animate anyhting. He will just draw random stuff. He has a poetic look to his drawings. Anyway, if I had to describe his drawings to a blind person, I would say beautiful. His drawings may be random, but they have their beauty to them. He makes beautiful anitmations. This is what he does.

His process of working is very hard. He has to draw something then erase it. Then he has to draw another picture and erase it t make a new one. Its hard but its worth it becuase he does beautiful animations with stop motion. He is a really god artist.

Mash-Up?

A mash-up is a combination of 2 or more songs to make a new one. A friend recently recommended this is one, its by Jay Z and Linkin Park. I heard it and it is pretty good. Also, I heard this other one by DJ Earworm. Its also very ggod. I personally think mash-ups are cool. They take a lot of skill since you have to combine 2 songs. I good mash-up is made by making the 2 or more songs sound right. They have to go together, even if they are very different from each other. A bad one is made when the songs don't combine at all. They will sound awful. I think that people that make mash ups are true musicians. Even if they dont make the music, they still make a song. Thats what I think. Ive only listened to DJ Earworm. So.........these are my thoughts.

Laser Contacts

Creating the Laser-Contacts was a really time-taking and frustrating job. First of all, because finding the right picture was really hard. I had to find a picture of someone holding a box of them and shooting out of their eyes at the same time. But then I found the picture of a commercial, that photo was really helpful. Also, I had to erase any other thing that contradicted what I was creating. It also took alot of time and I wanted it to look at least a bit realistic. Anyway, I managed to pull through and finish. Even if it looks a little bit fake, Id like to see you try. Photoshop is hard stuff!!!

Here is a LINK to Juan Pablo's job on Photoshop. I personally think its pretty good. But I know he hardly did any work on it. The thing that took him the most was the robo-surfers. But all in all its pretty well done. Well done JP!

I would buy both products stated here. Ive always wanted to shoot lasers out my eyes! I hope the laser contacts will be made when im older. Also, I wish the Wave Master was also for sale. It would be awesome to be able to control the waves. I could surf the biggest wave ever! I hope both of these artifacts will be invented while im alive.

Contact lenses that fire laser. Everybodys dream is to be able to shoot laser out of your eyes. I will make a person grabing a box of contact lenses and he willl be firing through his eyes. It is acually quite simple but effective.

Family Reunion

The most challenging thing I had to do for this family tree project was getting the picture in the frame. It took me a long time just to get the pictures. Then I had to make them bond with the frames. After that I had to blur the pictures out just so I could write this blog. Sometimes I think Photoshop is harder than I thought.

Anyways, al of this remind me of the time this summer when I went to Barcelona. I got together will ALL of my dads family. I did not know I had that much family. We had lunch together then we all just sat in the yard and took pictures. After that we ate marshmellows in the yard with a small contolled fire. However I then met my mother family. I have alot of cousins. They enjoyed the same things I did. It all pretty much went well.

Family Tree

I choose an apple tree because my family in Mexico City has one in their backyard. I also like because the apples are delicious. My whole family during Christmas bakes apple pies from the trees.m I also choose it because the tree is simply beautiful. It shows my love for my family. This is why I choose an Apple tree for my family tree.

JOY

I went to my friends house to spend the night and played a bb gun war. At first it was hard because my brother and his friend were always hiding. Until they started to shoot back was when it got intense. My friend shot his brother in the head(he was wearing a mask) and he also shot my brother in the stomach twice. Then we played a second round which was harder because we were in the bottom floor. It turned out easier than I thought because I shoot my friends brother in the finger. He was out and after that I shot my brother in the head. We had won the first and second round that easy!

For myself Id like to get a kite. The kite would be awesome because I live in front of the beach and there is always wind. Firstly because they are very expensive and want to learn how to kite surf. Secondly beacuse a lot of my friends are doing it and convince me to do it. Also, since I was little Id watch them go by while I was wishing to learn and practice it. However, I have to work for the money and the lessons if I want to finally kite surf. Thats the only thing I would get for myself.

The special part of me that makes very special is that I am fun! I try to be funny and goof off to make people think im a fun person. Also, Im a very fun person to be around. I do silly things and encorage people to have fun, it usually works because like people having me around. Hoewever, I am not that funny, sometimes I pull off a very good prank and make everyone laugh. I like to create a fun enviroment for people around me. It usually makes people more comfortable. This is a special part of me.

MAP Testings.......Over and Over Again

Well last week I finished my MAP testings prettty well. Even thoughj these test are a pain in the butt, we miss alot of class time. Anyhow, My math score was pretty high, I got a 252. Which is very high for someone muy age. My language score was 223, its pretty low because Im not very good with words.....Also my Reading score was 231, it was very high. I over passed my last score in October. Speaking of October, here is my description of these tests. Theyre a living hell. These tests will bore the living out of you. No joke. This man in the picture was probaly me during those tests.

Today I saw many presentaions. My favorite, of course was mine. But I graded Jualians and I liked it. I would change mine a little bit. I would put some text in it so people can read it and understand. Also, maybe I will try to make it a little bit more informative so I can really help out these new seventh graders youll soon be hearing about. These students will write on this webpage too.
